After a long winter I was able to finally cast my new rod from Mad River rod Co. A ”#9353” 7'9" 3pc. 5wt. that Clint made for me over the winter. Its a beautiful rod and its a dream to cast. I took it out on a somewhat windy day on the Cranberry but I managed to take it for a test drive and it exceeded my expectations. I have been staring at it all winter on my rod rack in my fly tying room wondering where I'm going to fish it this spring. So I decided to take my new girl out on a special date. The river was a bit high but managed to have a great test flight using a Cortland Sylk DT 5wt line. Sam was with me and he was equally impressed as well. It is a great intermediate size that I'm looking forward to fish with in Montana this summer. It's my third rod from Clint and once again happy with my purchase. Clints site is: www.cjbovarods.com
Now if the winds would subside after this horrible run of storms we can get this season started!
